Tata Motor’s upcoming hatchback Zica gets an all new exterior design, new platform and a new engine. The Zicais built on a completely new Platform, ‘XO’ and will be manufactured at Tata’s plant in Sanand. Global design inputs from Pune, UK and Italy studios have contributed to the design language of Zica which is the third product under Tata Motor’s HorizonNext initiative after Tata Zest and Tata Bolt.

Engine and variants

Tata Zica will come in two variants – a 3 cylinder, MPFi with MULTI DRIVE, REVOTRON 1.2L petrol engine and a 3 cylinder, CRAIL with MULTI DRIVE, REVOTORQ 1.05L diesel engine. The petrol engine will have maximum power at 85 PS @ 6000 RPM, and torque at 114 Nm @ 3500 RPM, while the diesel one will give maximum power of 70 PS @ 4000 RPM, and torque at 140 Nm @ 1800-3000 RPM.

The Zica measures 3746 mm in length, 1647 mm in width and 1535 mm in overall height. It has a ground clearance of 170 mm with 14″ alloy wheels. The capacity of the fuel tank is 35 litres.

It has 3-point front seat belt, 3-point rear outer seat belt, and center lap belt. It also features driver and front passenger airbags. Tata Zica comes equipped with central locking (with remote) system, speed sensing auto door lock, clutch lock, inside rear view day and night mirror, and immobilizer.
